The Heart and Soul Gala Committee recently announced, Crowe Marine has signed up as a sponsor of the 2023 Gala benefitting St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro.
The Crowe family has seen and experienced the benefits of St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Lake Oconee since the beginning. In 2013, company founder Bill Crowe was diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer.
“St. Mary’s did such a great job of making sure he was cared for and comfortable during his time there,” his son Brian stated. “And the fact that he was able to be here, so close to home, meant a lot to us.” The hospital also was there for the family in 2021 when Brian’s mother, Jewel Crowe, passed away from COVID-19.
The Crowe family appreciates St. Mary’s, not just for all the major medical moments but minor ones as well, such as when Brian’s son, Jackson, spent Christmas Eve in the emergency department due to a viral infection, or when his daughter, Courtney, fractured her foot.

The 2023 Heart & Soul Gala is scheduled for Feb. 11, at The Ritz-Carlton, Reynolds Lake Oconee. The black-tie event includes dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions. Proceeds will go toward addressing chronic health problems in the Good Samaritan Hospital area, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
