Sponsored by the Greensboro Business Association, The Downtown Christmas Village event will take over Greensboro 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3, one day after the town’s Christmas Tree Lighting.
Among the downtown stores involved, Lake & Local will host a Holiday Maker’s Market at its shop (104 S. Main St., Greensboro), where several vendors will be selling handmade holiday goodies throughout the day. Soy candles, hand-painted signs and journals, handmade jewelry, holiday wreaths, and much more also will be available in the palm garden and event space in the back of the shop.
In addition to the Maker’s Market at Lake & Local, Claire Sanders of Calligraphy by Claire will be set up in the front of the shop offering customers an opportunity to have gift tags, gifts and ornaments hand-lettered, as well as purchase some of her artwork from 10 a.m. to noon. Meanwhile, Willow and Sage Clay will be set up inside The Pink Stitch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., selling handmade clay earrings.
And what’s a Christmas Village without Santa Claus? Santa will be ready to greet families 11a.m. to 2 p.m. at 111 N.
Main Street. Families are welcome to take their own photos and kids can share their Christmas wish lists with Santa.
The Kona Ice Truck also will be on site 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on North Main Street in front of Broad Street and Main Antiques. Visitors can make a stop for a sweet treat on their way to see Santa or grab a snack after dining at one of many downtown Greensboro restaurants.
The Yesterday Cafe will be open during the Christmas Tree Lighting Dec. 2, as well as Dec. 3, during the Downtown Christmas Village event.
Visitors also can enjoy eating at The Ripe Thing, Los Torres, and Family Ties BBQ.
The Greensboro Business Association also welcomes Bonnie’s Coffee and More (110 N. Main Street), where owner Beronica Martinez is excited to be a part of the downtown business community and ready to serve customers coffee and other hot drinks, along with delicious pastries.
Yet another new business in the downtown community, Main Street Nutrition (108 N. Main Street), will be handing out menus and coupons as owner Brandi Price prepares to open her new business in January. Price said Main Street Nutrition is about “making nutrition fun and delicious with healthy energy drinks and meal-replacement shakes.” Each downtown merchant will be ready to greet customers and offer a wide array of holiday treats and deals to celebrate the season. Be sure to visit them all, including Main Street Furniture, J.H. McCommons, Greensboro Antique Mall, Maggie Lane, Habitat for Humanity’s Furniture Store, The Pink Stitch, Broad Street and Main Antiques, Genuine Georgia, and Lake & Local.
