LOYA goes golfing

Thanks to major sponsors Global Valuations, Athens BMW and Chick-fil-A, Lake Oconee Youth Alliance (LOYA) held its inaugural fundraising golf tournament Oct. 24, at Reynolds Landing Golf Course, where 72 golfers teed off on a beautiful autumn afternoon along the shores of Lake Oconee. Golfers Lane Singleton (left) and Bruce Kelly were among those who stood out. Since 2018, LOYA has committed $270,000 toward four-year college scholarships for 42 local high school graduates. LOYA scholars have maintained a 3.6 GPA during their collegiate career with an average 3.53 years to graduate.
