Clarence Eugene Wright Jr.

Clarence Eugene Wright Jr, 89 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 28, 2023. Preceding him in death are his parents Clarence Eugene Wright Sr. and Vera Mae Ledford Wright, also a sister Dorothy Wright Grimes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Ann Nell Johnson Wright, and daughters Connie Wright Covington (Daryl) of Eatonton and Jennifer Wright Wallace (Jimmy) of Bowman, GA. Grandchildren: Jesse Covington and Alanna Covington Davis (Jeff) of Eatonton. Greatgrandchildren: Lyla Davis and Dakota Davis of Eatonton, also two sisters: Myrtle Thomas of Zebulon, GA and Louise Moss of Lexington, SC, Brother-in-law: Henry L. Johnson of Commerce, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

As an adult, he lived mostly in three communities of GA: Roswell/Alpharetta, Elberton and Eatonton.

Clarence served in the National Guard and was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He was a firefighter, Mason, Shriner, Jaycee, Civil Defense, and a deacon at his church.

His favorite hobbies and talents included making music singing, cooking, yard sales, auctions, gardening, woodworking, being with family and of course napping.

Known as CW to many, daddy and papa to a few, he was a caring and giving Christian man who will be missed deeply.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a favorite charity, church, or St. Mary’s Hospice in Athens, GA.

Visitation will be at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, from 10 am to 11 am, followed by a service at 11 am. Burial will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
