The Lake Oconee Area Builders Association (LOABA) will present The Big Event on March 18, a free, one-day festival featuring 144 exhibitors, including local home builders, remodelers, suppliers, and many other companies associated with the home-and-garden industry, such as property appraisers, mortgage providers, pest control, tradespeople, and more.
Rain or shine, the LOABA Big Event will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Oconee Village (1000 Vista Dr., Greensboro), with the event kicked off by the Lake Country Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol presenting the colors and remaining onsite throughout the day to answer questions.
In addition to home-and-garden vendors, there will be displays by other local merchants, artists and non-profit organizations, arts-and-crafts providers, and boat and recreational vehicle dealers.
Many and varied food options will be available from Chick-Fil-A and food trucks from Farmers Funnel Cakes, Queen Churro, Five Finger Philly, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee of Lake Country, Just Loaf’n, Kona Ice and Island Chef Café.
Additionally, there will be a beer and wine garden, with all proceeds benefiting Wild Jaeger Veteran Adventures.
A special, free, Kids Zone will offer face painting, games, photos and a few other surprises, and back by popular demand will be Saltamacchio Karate and The Arts Barn. Live music will come from local groups showcasing their talents.
While attending The Big Event, visitors are invited to scan an onsite QR code to register for a chance to win one of three impressive door prizes: Apple AirPods Pro, a Green Mountain pellet grill, and a Wolf Gourmet countertop oven.
Ample paved parking is free for attendees, who are encouraged to park on the backside of the complex. Overflow parking lots also are available offsite and for those who may not be able to walk the distance, free trolleys will operate from the designated parking areas. Look for parking signs along Linger Longer Road.
Well-behaved, leashed and vaccinated pets are welcome, too.
