The Greene County Livestock Association and the Greene County Extension are proud to present the 23rd annual Greene County Pro Rodeo put on by Bubba Oubre Rodeo Company.
Mosey on down to the covered Greene County Agricultural Center Arena (1180 C. Weldon Smith Rd., Greensboro) April 21-22, to catch the action.
Events begin at 8 p.m. each night, with tickets just $15 each for ages 13 and up, $10 for ages 5-12, and free admission for kids 4 and under. There will be free events for children on both nights, too.
Ages 12 and under can try their hand at pulling the ribbon off a calf’s tail in the calf scramble. Even the youngest cowboys and cowgirls, aged 2-3 and 4-5 years old, can saddle up and ride stick horses in a race to the finish.
Concession stands will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, candy, Frito pies, homemade goodies, funnel cakes, boiled peanuts, Mexican fare, and many beverages to wash it all down. Or rope a deal at Cowboy Corner, where boots, shirts, cowboy hats, toys, and of course, lariats will be on sale.
The annual Greene County Pro Rodeo is twofold: a fun night out for you and your family for a reasonable price and a night you can feel good about as a portion of each rodeo ticket sold will go to support Greene County 4-H, the Greensboro Fire Department, Greene County FFA, the Cystic Fibrosis Association in honor of Holt Sapp, and the Southeastern Brain Tumor Association in honor of Brent Ogletree, Rachel Patrick Kinsaul, and Bill Bryans.
Proceeds also make it possible to have two junior rodeos in Greene County each year. Thanks go to rodeo sponsors GC Livestock Association, Greene County 4-H, Lake Country Legends 94.7, Pennington/Grotec of Madison, Jimmy Britt Chevrolet of Greensboro, T, and T Stone, AgPro of Madison/ John Deere, Smith Farm Supply, Higdon Electric, Lake Oconee, and Bank South.
