Joseph E. Schneider, 88, of Eatonton, passed away on March 30, 2023. He was married to his wife of 38 years Judy Schneider.
He always had a kind word to say. He was a resident of Sebastian Cove until he became ill and liked to socialize with friends in the cove. He was a member of the Elks Club and liked social and charitable events sponsored by the Elks. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Joe joined the ROTC as a high school student and later went on to be a Naval Aviator. After a 12-year career in the Navy, he worked for the Federal Aviation Association until his retirement.
In retirement, he worked to maintain the airfield in Sebastion Cove and for several years he was the president of the Airstrip Association.
Joe is survived by his wife, Judy, his daughters Elizabeth Schneider and Jennifer Schneider, his sister Judy Curtis, his stepdaughter Deanna Smith and his stepson Bob Wells.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service. Date to be announced.
