Harvey Marion Denham of Eatonton, Georgia passed away on June 17, 2023. He was born on August 14, 1942, in Eatonton, Georgia to the late Harvey and Rosa Denham.
Harvey was a loving husband to his wife, Mary Griffith Denham for over 42 years. He is also survived by his three children, Nickie Corbitt (Glenn), Gary Denham (Beckie) and Lisa Pilkenton (Scott).
Harvey or “PePaw” had 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren that were great source of pride and entertainment to him.
Harvey was a very thoughtful and considerate man. He enjoyed his family so much. He was a great big brother to his three siblings, a devoted nephew, a generous cousin, a reliable uncle, and a loyal friend to many. He was always sincere and never met a stranger. His favorite time of the year was when the family came from all over around Thanksgiving and gravitated to his house and shop to share wild stories and humorous banter.
He also enjoyed the fellowship of his monthly breakfasts with various friends and regular visits with lifelong companions and neighbors.
Harvey graduated from Putnam County High School in 1961. He enjoyed attending Blue Devil class reunions and catching up with his classmates.
Harvey completed technical school in North Georgia. He was an electrician by trade but there was not anything he could not figure out how to do or fix. He worked at the Enterprise Aluminum Company for over 17 years. He then retired from the University of Georgia’s Rock Eagle in 2004 after 17 years of dedicated service.
Harvey was a devoted and life-long member of Wesley Chapel Church, where he served on numerous committees and boards. Harvey was very civic-minded and was a member of various community organizations. He was a member of the Jaycees for many years and served as president in 1971 and 1975. He was a Master Mason of Rising Star Lodge No. 4 for over 25 years and served as a Worshipful Master.
He was awarded the Outstanding Citizen Award by Woodmen of the World in 1978.
Harvey was also a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
The family would like to thank everyone that has supported them throughout Harvey’s illness, with a special thank you to one of his cousins, who was like a brother and a best friend, Tim Herring. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Wesley Chapel Church.
