Tri-CoGo reaches broadband customer milestone

Tri-County EMC affiliate Tri-CoGo completed broadband installation for its 5,000th customer on July 19, at APX Powersports, a new, preowned watercraft shop in Milledgeville.

“I am extremely proud of our team for reaching this milestone. It’s a huge accomplishment,” Tri-CoGo Chief Operating Officer Greg Mullis declared. “I’m also proud of the trust placed in us by our customers and our community partners. For so many without connectivity, we changed our world.”

Since Tri-CoGo’s launch in 2021, the availability of rural connectivity to Tri-County EMC members has dramatically improved. The cooperative has built more than 1,400 miles of fiber and is adding nearly 400 new customers per month.

“The response of our members to Tri-CoGo and the way it has changed their lives is proof that we did the right thing by bringing world-class fiber broadband to Middle Georgia,” Tri-County EMC Chief Executive Officer Ray Grinberg said.

Headquartered in Gray, Tri-CoGo provides 100-percent, fiber internet service and VOIP phone service to now more than 5,000 residential and commercial customers in Baldwin, Bibb, Jones, Jasper, Putnam, Twiggs and Wilkinson counties.

Tri-CoGo’s fiber construction project is in its second phase, currently completing construction in Putnam County. The team expects nearly every Tri-Country EMC member to have fiber internet service available by this fall. Service territory and zone availability schedules can be found at tri-cogo.com.
