The young children of our counties will be tomorrow’s leaders. The recipe for early school success is simple: start with strong literacy skills.
Ferst Readers’ recipe for encouraging early literacy development is even simpler: ensure children have developmentally appropriate books in their homes, and provide parents with resources that support them in their role as their child’s first and foremost teacher.
We at Ferst Readers of Greene and Putnam Counties are very aware that there are many great causes in our communities asking for your financial support. We hope that you will add us to your list of favorite non-profits as you plan your donations for the year.
By participating in Ferst Readers’ 2 Ways 2 Win fundraiser, you can contribute to local children’s future success by providing one child (or more) with a free book each month for a year, delivered straight to their homes.
The first way you win is by giving 12 new, age-appropriate books to a county child aged birth to five years old.
The second way you win is by each ticket purchased also providing a chance for you to win a valuable prize donated by generous merchants and restaurants throughout our communities.
A contribution to your local Ferst Readers program is an extremely worthwhile investment toward making a difference in the lives of our own children and local areas.
The literacy work Ferst Readers accomplishes is completely dependent on your support. We currently remain a very long way from reaching our goal of providing 500 books for local children in 2024, but there’s still time to make it happen!
