Maxine Thomas Mason went to her heavenly home on Dec. 1, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Mason, her parents, M.E. and Birdie Thomas, and one brother, Randall Thomas. She is survived by her three sons and their families: Nathan & Pat Mason with children Erica & David Haley and Casey & Brooke Mason; Mike & Linda Mason with daughter Julia Grant; Randy & Tina Mason with children McKenzie & Brandon Cardwell, Brett & Carissa Mason, and Gannon & Claire Mason.
She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren: Emma Clair Haley, Mason Haley, Karter Mason, Willow Mason, Piper Mason, Jack Cardwell, Madilynn Mason, Naomi Mason, JoDee Mason, and Jude Mason. As well as nephews Byron and Stewart Thomas and their families.
Maxine was born in Gainesville, GA, and moved to Eatonton in her early years. After graduating high school, she married Leroy Mason and went to college for business.
Maxine returned to Eatonton to work as an in-home nanny for the next 40-plus years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Services were held at Calvary Baptist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023. Vining Ivy Hill Chapel was in charge of the arrangements
