Georgia Writers Museum to host ‘lie detector’ expert

History is filled with countless criminal and civil cases solved through the use of a polygraph, commonly known as a “lie detector.” Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) has announced that one of the world’s leading polygraphists, Lisa Ribacoff, will be its Crime & Wine: Valentine Edition presenter on Feb. 23 and 24, at 7 p.m. each night.

Tickets are $40 each.

Additionally, for an extra $5, attendees can buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win a “Polygraph Demonstration for Your Special Valentine.”

Lisa will ask your Valentine three hilarious questions and give the audience the actual results!

Crime & Wine mastermind Sheryl “Mac” McCollum, co-author of the textbook Cold Case: Pathways to Justice, will return each night as host.

McCollum is an Emmy Award-winning crime scene investigator (CSI) from CBS46’s CSI Atlanta, director of the Cold Case Investigative Research Institute (CCIRI), a writer for CrimeOnLine, Forensic, a CSI for a metro Atlanta police department, and a crime scene expert for Crime Stories with Nancy Grace. McCollum holds a master’s degree in criminal justice with an emphasis on policing and in 2023 she was inducted into the Law Enforcement Hall of Fame.

Ribacoff is the manager of the New York City-based International Investigative Group, listed on the Expert Panel of the City of New York and Nassau County.

She is a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners and the American Society for Testing and Materials, Intl., and holds advanced training certifications with accreditation from the American Polygraph Association, the National Polygraph Association, and the British & European Polygraph Association.

Additionally, Ribacoff holds Advanced Training Post Conviction Sex Offender Testing certification with the American Polygraph Association. She conducts testing for criminal accusations, employee theft, insurance fraud, family issues, abuse allegations, and media.

She also has tested paroled sex offenders for the Rockland County Department of Probation and has interviewed comedian Kevin Hart and actresses Melissa McCarthy and Jennifer Lawrence on the polygraph.

GWM’s Crime & Wine events have been attended by hundreds of people eager to help crack unsolved cold cases left behind by law enforcement. The last event attracted more than 300 attendees.
