MAGallery in downtown Madison will open its third special exhibition of the year this Friday, “Finding Light,” featuring the ethereal works of Southwest Georgia artist Dana Johns.
Influenced by the slow waters of the river environment in which she grew up, Johns uses her artistic talent to communicate the beauty and mystery of Southern waters in artworks that go beyond the material to reveal something spiritual.
Johns received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1993 from the University of Georgia. Her work is held in the collections of UGA (Tate Center and the Center for Continuing Education), the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, and the St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta, among others.
Visit MAGallery from 6-8 p.m. May 3 for sips and bites, live music, and conversation with the artist, or visit as early as 5 p.m. to see the show and grab a snack.
Finding Light will remain at MAGallery through June 8, and all works are for sale. MAGallery has partnered with NFM Lending as its exhibition sponsor.
