Just more than 10% of registered Putnam County voters cast ballots in Tuesday's primary election, including advance and absentee voting. That may be the result of only one local contested race.
According to the Putnam County Board of Elections and Registration, Charles Trumbo defeated Mary Farmer by 39 votes for the open District 4 seat on the Board of Education.
As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, it appeared incumbent State Sen. Rick Williams, R-Milledgeville, will easily defeat challenger Leland Jake Olinger.

Charles Trumbo – 239 (54.44%)

Alexandra "Lexy" Doherty – 188 (47.84%)

Leland Jake Olinger – 108 (8.3%)
Ricky "Rick" Williams (I) – 1,193 (91.7%)
State House District 124, Democrat
Rickie Glenn – 46 (24.21%)
Melanie M. Miller – 144 (75.79%)
