Mr. Frank Jesse Carnes, age 76, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Carnes was born on August 31, 1947, to the late Charlie Grady Carnes and the late Marian Bailey Carnes. Mr. Carnes honorably served his country as a Military Police for the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a dairy farmer who loved being on his farm and doing the hard work that came with the job.
He collected memorabilia and was a member of the TPepsi-Colaola Club. His sister, June McDade, preceded him in death.
Mr. Carnes is survived by his life partner Janie Wilkie of Eatonton, son Grady Carnes (Amy Whatley) of Eatonton, and daughter Angela Reynolds of Eatonton. Additional survivors include Janie’s sons, Bradley Wilkie, Greg Wilkie, and Mark Wilkie, all of Eatonton; grandchildren Kensley Carnes and Jaden Carnes, both of Athens; Ethan Whatley and Lola Whatley, both of Eatonton, great grandchild Keaston Carnes of Athens, and brother Charlie Carnes of Eatonton.
Services were held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Eatonton. The family received friends Monday Evening, August 19, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
