OPAS presents Josh Young and Emily Padgett Sept. 27

The Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) has announced that Tony Award-nominated and five-time Theater World Award-winning singer Josh Young and his wife, Broadway actress Emily Padgett, will perform in Broadway Sings for OPAS on Sept. 27 at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton.

The talented duo, celebrated for their exceptional vocal talents and commanding stage presence, will deliver an evening of show-stopping numbers to open OPAS's 17th season.

Young is known for a powerful performance in “Jesus Christ Superstar” and has garnered critical acclaim for his work as Che in “Evita” and as Marius in “Les Misérables,” captivating Broadway audiences with his commanding voice, stage charisma, and versatility.

Padgett, a standout triple-threat performer in her own right, has starred in six major Broadway productions, including “Grease,” “Rock of Ages,” and Edie Brickell and Steve Martin’s hit, “Bright Star,” among others.

“We are honored to welcome Josh and Emily,” OPAS Artistic Director Doug LaBrecque said.

“I have had the privilege of working with both of these incredible singers in performances with symphonies across the country. The bar has been set high for this annual Broadway concert, and this promises to be an unforgettable evening with their soaring vocals.”

The evening’s performance will feature a selection of Broadway’s most beloved songs led by conductor Larry Blank and the 36-piece, hand-selected OPAS Philharmonic orchestra. From soul-stirring ballads to high-energy showstoppers, the program promises something for everyone and showcases this dynamic couple's remarkable chemistry and talents.
