Mr. Jack D. Ferrell, 91, of Lake Oconee, passed away on Oct. 25, 2024. His life will be celebrated on Sunday, Nov 3, 2024, at 3 p.m. in Eatonton First Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
Mr. Ferrell was a native of Durham, North Carolina, and moved to Decatur, Georgia, in 1960 when he became employed with a commercial heating and air conditioning business. In 1964, he purchased the company. He installed the air conditioning in the Varsity and the first McDonalds in Atlanta. He moved to Lake Oconee in 1994 and spent his retirement on Lake Oconee.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lou Warren Ferrell, his parents, Melville M. Ferrell and Vera M Watson Ferrell, and his siblings, Jesse, Clarene, Roselyn, James L., and Billie Ferrell Wilson.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eatonton and a member of the Cornerstone Sunday School class.
Survivors include his daughters, Toni Triplett and husband Joe of Eatonton, Julia Tingle and husband Steve of Panama City, FL, and Kelly McLane and husband Keith of Flowery Branch; grandchildren Stephen Triplett and wife Leighann, Kyle Triplett, Sean Reach, Benjamin Tingle, Meghan Tingle and husband Mitch, and Caitlin Tingle; and great-grandchildren Hudson and Claire Triplett.
