With hearts overflowing with gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of Anne-Marie “Ree” Beavers (née Brown), who departed for her Heavenly home surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 18th, 2026, at the age of 59. A woman of incomparable strength, compassion, and beauty, she lived life as a force of nature – loving, unyielding, and unforgettable. She leaves behind a legacy as vibrant and unique as she was. She was a devoted wife to Wade, her husband and best friend of 40 years; an amazing mother to her three children, Morgan, Anna, and Wade, Jr.; recent grandmother to Taz and Wesley; daughter of Dr. Tom Brown and the late Thérèse Barfield Brown; sister to Ryan (Windy) and the late Lyn Brown; mother-in-law to Dan Howell, Bailey McGarrh, and Madison Beavers; daughter-in-law to the late Curtis and Jackie Beavers; and a generous friend to many. Born and raised in Eatonton, Georgia, Ree built a legacy defined by devotion to family, sacrifice for others, and a relentless pursuit of shared joy with those around her. Her light was indomitable, seemingly other-worldly, and always shined brightest when others needed it the most. She met Wade at Georgia Tech during her freshman year in 1985.
Inseparable ever since, they married in 1988 and began their adventure, relying on persistence, grit, a bottomless well of love, and boundless hope in what they could accomplish together. As only she could, Ree recalled fondly the difficult early years working multiple jobs to get Wade through MBA and law school. After two decades of focusing tirelessly on raising her children, Ree built a remarkable second career as a real estate broker when she and Wade fulfilled their dream of moving to Dubois, Wyoming, a remote town in the Wind River Mountains, in 2015.
Ree’s energy, tenacity and love of the outdoors translated seamlessly into her role as a proprietor of dreams for fellow adventure- seekers across the country.
Most recently, Ree’s life had been filled to the brim with the joy of becoming a grandmother, traveling to spend time with her children and their families, and building her retirement dream home with Wade. From long days clearing brush or hauling railroad ties to build a fence sturdy enough for their St. Bernard, to sitting with Wade in their swings along the Tongue River, she found a transcendent joy in every beautiful part of their adventure together. She shared that joy to decorate the lives of those around her. And even in her final months and days, as her earthly body reached its end, Ree’s light shined as bright as ever – bringing laughter, joy, and gratitude in abundance to her loved ones.
If you knew Ree, you know this: She was fiery.
She was relentless. She was selfless. She was spunky.
She was absolutely filled with wonder.
And though the world feels dimmer without her in it, we carry her with us – in the tomatoes filling the greenhouse, in the decorations at Christmas, in the random acts of kindness for strangers, in the memory of her grin, and in the way she taught us to love with reckless abandon.
