Beatrice “Bea” Aleen Gaskins Martin, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2024, in Athens, Georgia, at the age of 87. 

She was born on May 28, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Bea graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1953. She held many jobs over her life, but she has always said that “none were as fulfilling as being a substitute teacher for 12 years.”

She enjoyed nurturing young minds and making a positive impact in their lives.

Bea found joy in gardening, reading, photography, and caring for her beloved animals.

She cherished moments spent with her family and friends, creating a warm and welcoming home for all. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Eatonton, GA.

Bea was known for her sweet and loving nature, always making everyone feel cherished. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them.

Bea was predeceased by her Husband, Samuel Martin, Father, Oliver Gaskins, Mother, Beatrice Gaskins, Sister, Barbara Gaskins & Brother, Bruce Gaskins.

She is survived by her children: Sandra (Sandi) Sardella and husband Danny of Eatonton, GA, Russell (Rusty) Martin and wife Cathy of Cape Coral, FL, Stephen Martin and wife Teresa of Roberta, GA and Scott Martin and wife Tracy of Eatonton, GA Bea also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Tony Sardella and wife Shelley of Eatonton, GA, Rusty Martin and wife Danielle of Smyrna, GA, Amanda Martin of Monroe, GA, Brittany Blizzard and husband Dalton of Eatonton, GA, Rachel Fear and husband David of Lawrenceville, GA, MacKenzie Martin and husband Othman Aguirre of Eatonton, GA, Joshua Martin of Kennesaw, GA, Rob Wilson and wife Melinda of Maryville, TN., as well as thirteen great-grandchildren; Ridge Sardella, Coleman Clewis, Ashton Sardella, Connor Martin, Henleigh Blizzard, Lakelynn Fulton, Beau Blizzard, Samantha Martin, Saffron Fear, Ocean Aguirre, Delmy Wilson, Marcos Wilson and a great-granddaughter due July 2024.

 A memorial service to honor Bea’s life will be held at a later date. Bea’s kindness and love will be remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
