Mr. Charlie Grady Carnes, Jr., age 81, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Eatonton. Burial followed at Eatonton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family received friends Monday evening, October 27, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home of Eatonton from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Mr. Carnes was born August 3, 1944, in Eatonton to the late Charlie Grady Carnes, Sr. and the late Marian Bailey Carnes. He worked as a dairyman for 35 years before becoming the Dining Hall Manager at Rock Eagle. He retired from Rock Eagle after 21 years and worked in the toy and produce departments at Walmart. Mr. Carnes enjoyed cross-stitch, gardening, and caring for his chickens, but enjoyed caring for his grandchildren even more. He was preceded in death by his sister, June McDade, brother Frank Carnes, and son Tod Carnes.
Mr. Carnes is survived by his wife Harriet Larman Carnes, daughter Traci Garner with her husband Clayton and their children Lauren Pressley (and husband Elvis) and Kevin Byrd (and wife Haleigh); daughter Joy Turner with husband Bubba and their children Jackson Turner (and wife Kathleen) and Bailey Turner; daughter Amy McCranie with her husband Gene and their children Brandon McCranie (and wife Melissa), Jacob McCranie (and wife Heather), and Brittany Ayers (and husband Wesley); son Justin Carnes with wife Melissa and their children Jase Carnes and Kylie Carnes; and daughter Ivy Hall with husband Dimitri and their daughter Brayleigh Hall, as well as 15 great-grandchildren, an uncle Benny Bailey and several nieces and nephews.
