Craig E. Winters, 74, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on September 18, 2026.
Craig was born on October 10, 1951, in Marion, Ohio, to John and Frances Winters. He spent his life working hard, loving deeply, and holding tightly to his faith in Jesus Christ.
Craig retired from Georgia Power’s Plant Branch after 34 years of dedicated service. He was a hardworking man who believed in taking care of his family, helping others, and giving his best to whatever was placed before him. Of all the things Craig accomplished in his life, nothing was more important to him than his faith and his family. He loved the Lord with all his heart, and his faith guided the way he lived his life. He prayed about everything and was always ready to talk about God with anyone who would listen. Through good times and difficult ones, his faith remained steadfast. Even throughout illness, loss, and some of the hardest days of his life, Craig continued to praise God and trust in Him.
Craig loved his wife with a deep and enduring love.
He loved his daughter, Misty, beyond measure, and there was little that brought him greater pride than his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His family knew they were loved, and they knew that they were prayed for.
Craig had a special way of mixing wisdom, faith, and humor. One of his favorite sayings was: “Pray for wisdom, knowledge, understanding, sound decision-making—and you will get patience; it’s a packaged deal.” That was Craig—always encouraging the people he loved to seek God first.
He is survived by his only child, daughter Misty Beall and her husband, John; grandson Timothy Milam and his wife, Brittany, and great-granddaughter Cyrus Jo Milam; grandson John Milam and his wife, Courtney, and greatgrandson Kade Ethan Milam; grandsons James Milam, Connor Beall, and Jonathan Beall; his sister, Linda Novak Lebin and her husband, Scott; his brother, Johnny Winters and his wife, Denise; as well as extended family, many dear friends and his beloved cat, Tiger. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kathrine Winters.
Craig’s life was marked by faith, devotion, perseverance, and an extraordinary love for his family.
Those who knew him will remember his strength, his wisdom, his conversations about the Lord, and the love he so freely gave. His family grieves his absence, but they do so with the assurance that Craig held onto throughout his life: this world was never his final home. He loved Jesus. He loved his faith.
He loved his church and he loved his family. And now, he is home.
