Donna Lee Dunn Scott, age 72 of Eatonton, GA, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on July 11, 2025.
Donna was born September 14, 1952, in Sandersville, GA, to the late James Harold Dunn and the late Mary Nell Hayes Dunn. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Vivian Blizzard, her brother Hal Dunn, and her son Michael Wesley Yarbrough.
Donna is survived by her son, William James Yarbrough III; her daughter, Kelly Linch Gilliard (Kenny); her sister, Tina Maples (Doug); nieces and nephews; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donna was a devoted mother to her children. She selflessly cared for her disabled son, Michael, for almost 30 years. Donna loved cooking, canning, reading, antiquing/ thrifting, and spending time with her family/friends. She was famous for her homemade pear and zucchini relishes.
No one loved hunting for “nick nacks” more than she did. She often visited the Eatonton Veterans Thrift Store, Putnam Christian Outreach, and any garage/estate sale she could find.
Donna was kind, compassionate, loving, selfless, and the epitome of what a mother and a warrior truly are. All her family and friends will deeply miss her.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the upcoming weeks after summer. All family and friends are invited and are kindly asked to share photos and memories from the past and present.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Stroke Association in her name.
