Harold Kenneth Vickery

Mr. Harold Kenneth Vickery, age 86, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023. Funeral services were held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Eatonton. Burial followed at Eatonton Memorial Park. The family received friends from 2:00 pm until the service time.

“Vick” as he was known to his friends, was born on April 20, 1937 to the late James Enoch Vickery and the late Nellie Lou Harbin Vickery. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eatonton. He owned and operated Vickery Car Care Center in Atlanta, GA for 31 years. He earned numerous awards including the Gulf Refining Company Traditions of Service Award for 1983 and 1984. He was an avid Braves fan. When he retired in 2000, he moved permanently to Lake Oconee where he enjoyed the lake and the many visits from his children and grandchildren. Vick was preceded in death by his sisters Evelyn Jenkins and Betty Ann Vickery, and a brother Tommy Vickery.

Vick is survived by his wife Elaine Vickery, children Cheryll Smith ( and husband Tracy), Harold Kenneth “Pete” Vickery, Jr. (and wife Linda), Tippi McMichael (and husband Hunter), Brannon Sims (and wife Candi), and Craig Sims (and wife Kim), grandchildren Chad Smith (and wife Tori), Cara Laine Riley (and husband Patrick), Matthew Vickery, Madison Fenner (and husband Trenten), Kenzlee Sims, Landon Sims, Kolt McMichael, and Griffin McMichael, great grandchild Poppy Riley, sisters Jean Hawkins, Sue Cawthon (and husband Charles) and Frances Drane and brother Charles Vickery.
