Helen Marie Parham Register, lovingly known as “Marie,” entered into eternal rest on April 17, 2026, following an extended illness.
Marie was born on February 5, 1945, to the late Emory William Parham Sr. and Mary Lexie Bridges Parham. She dedicated over 32 years of service to Putnam General Hospital, where she became known for her compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to her community. She played a vital role in emergency response services, operating what is now known as 911 before it was formally established in the county. Marie served others with pride, kindness, and a true servant’s heart.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie Register; her grandsons, Stephen Emory Ferguson and John Edward Ferguson, Jr.; her granddaughter, Rachel Anne Ferguson; her brothers, William Parham Jr. and Roger Parham.
Marie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Those who will forever hold her in their hearts include her children: William “Bill” Walls of Eatonton; Angela “Ann” (Jimmy) Geick of Eatonton; Carmen (Tobias) Bradshaw of Leesburg; and Homer Walls of Eatonton. She is also survived by her brothers, Doug (Judy) Parham, James (Kathy) Parham, and Keith (Vivian) Parham, all of Eatonton; her sisters-in-laws, Carol Parham of Eatonton and Lola Parham of Martinez, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Ralph Morgan, Kevin Parham, Steven Parham, Nathan Parham, and Dillon Bradshaw and Homer L. Walls Jr.
Instead of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Marie’s memory to Peaceful Purpose Hospice of Eatonton or to a church of your choice.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Peaceful Purpose Hospice for the gentle and dedicated care provided during Marie’s final month.
