Jerry Hobbs, age 69 passed away peacefully after an extended illness on November 6, 2023. He was born on February 7, 1954, in Laurens County to the late Clara Maddox Parr and Claude W. Hobbs. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Monroe Parr, and brother Jimmy Hobbs.
Years ago, Jerry was an avid golfer and loved playing with his brother Jimmy who was as competitive as he was. He was a member of the Rising Star Lodge #4 and loved his friends dearly. Before moving to Dublin he was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Jerry is survived by his wife Pat, children Crystal Ayers (Gabe) of Greenville, SC, Brandy Flood (Josh) of Jefferson, GA, Christopher Harrell (significant other, Lori Juarez) of Morrison CO, and Lindi Wicker (fiancé Jamie Suggs) of Dublin, GA, grandchildren Sylvia Ayers, Finley Flood, Ahdi-Laine Humphries and Hendrix Humphries, a very special Aunt Betty McElheney and stepmother Georgia Hobbs Wynne.
Visitation was on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11:30 am with a private family service immediately following.
The family will be gathering at the home of Betty McElheney afterward.
Instead of flowers donations can be made to the Masonic Children’s Home in Macon or the Shiner’s Hospital in Atlanta.
