Olene Farley Lee was a woman whose life was defined by strength, perseverance, and an unwavering devotion to family.
A loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished aunt, devoted sister, and treasured friend, she poured her heart into the people she loved and leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations.
Born in Eatonton, Georgia, to the late Daniel and Mozelle Farley, Olene was the ninth of 12 children. Growing up in a large and loving family helped shape the resilience, determination, and spirited personality that became hallmarks of her character throughout her life.
After graduating from high school, she set out to explore opportunities beyond her hometown. Her journey took her from Georgia to Ohio, then to Chicago, and eventually to New York City, where she spent many years building a life filled with accomplishments, friendships, and cherished memories.
In 1966, Olene began her career with Allomatic Industries, a subsidiary of General Motors. Following her retirement in 1989, she continued to demonstrate her strong work ethic by working at Propper Manufacturing until 2000.
While employed at Allomatic Industries, she met Jerone Lee, the man who would become her husband. The couple married the following year and built a life centered on love, partnership, and family. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Daniella, and later their son, Eferm.
Family remained at the center of Olene’s life. She took immense pride in her grandchildren—Dominique, Sabedith, and Skye—and cherished every moment spent with them.
After retiring, Olene returned to Georgia to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Although she endured the heartbreaking loss of her son, Eferm, she continued forward with the same strength, grace, and resilience that had guided her throughout her life.
Those who knew Olene will remember a woman of deep faith, strong character, sharp wit, and a loving heart. She was known for her impeccable sense of style, her talent in the kitchen, her generosity, and her signature sass that could brighten any room.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through her family, the values she instilled, and the countless memories she created. Her life was a testament to perseverance, faith, love, and the enduring power of family.
