Peter “Pete” Allen Miller

He was proud of America and enjoyed visiting various places with his wife while they camped and fished.

They also explored many foreign countries, Canada, Europe, and China.

He was the son of the late Edwin Allen Miller, Jr. and the late Lucille Blair Miller. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marcia L. Miller.

He is survived by his wife, J. Freeda Brachen Miller of 22 years; a son, Alexander H. Miller; and one granddaughter.

Mr. Miller was born on January 6, 1950 in Rochester, NY. He spent his childhood in NY.

He joined the Navy, and served from 1962-1965 as a radio/radar operator on the USS Tattnall.

Honorably discharged in Jacksonville, FL., he then pursued a career in education, teaching first in Albany, GA before moving to Milledgeville. He was dearly loved by the many children in his 5th grade classes. He taught at both Northside Elementary School and then at Creekside Elementary.

He was selected as a Creekside Super Teacher in 2003. Mr. Miller earned a BA. in Education in 1972, and a M.Ed in Education in 1990. He was a member of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.

He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Kiwanis (secretary in 1994-1995); Boy Scouts of America (Leader of Troop 316 in 1991-1992); Boys and Girls Club, Twin Bridges Square Dance Club, and in 1987, joined the Concord Methodist Church (choir member, adult Sunday School class teacher.)
