It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel Kenneth Maughon (Ken), who left us on March 10, 2025, at the age of 61.
Ken was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who was known for his unwavering strength, remarkable wit, and tenacity.
Ken was born on September 7, 1963, the son of Nancy and Gene Arvie Bruce (deceased). A man of great determination, he built a company from the ground up, employing hundreds. His entrepreneurial spirit, intelligence, and strong will left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Ken had a deep love for the outdoors—whether hunting, boating, or riding motorcycles, he embraced the thrill of nature. His laughter, intelligence, and sense of humor made him a joy to be around, and his strength of character was evident in every aspect of his life.
Ken is survived by his mother, Nancy Bruce; his sister, Jelene Bruce Manders; his children, Melissa Baugh, Amanda Stroup, and Michael Maughon; and his cherished grandsons, Max, James, Elijah, and Colton.
A service to honor Ken’s life was held at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel on March 15, 2024. Visitation was at 10 a.m., and services were at noon.
“So it’s true, when all is said and done, grief is the price we pay for love.” - E. A. Bucchianeri.
Ken’s legacy of hard work, love for his family, and indomitable spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
