Sandra Bennett 76, of Gray, passed away at her residence on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023. Sandra was born in Milledgeville on April 11, 1947, to the late Marcus and Lorene Griffith.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Louie Griffith. Sandra was born and raised on a dairy farm in Eatonton. She graduated from Putnam County High School in 1965 and began working at Bibb County Department of Family and Children’s Services in 1969 and retired from there in 2002. After her retirement, she worked as a court bailiff at the Bibb County Courthouse for 15 years.
She was a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church and spent her spare time doing embroidery, painting, and crafts and enjoyed Phase 10 card games.
She especially loved spending time with her loving family.
A service was held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Union Chapel Methodist Church at 1:30 pm. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Sandra is survived by her husband William Bennett, daughter Dawn Kamphuis (Dave) of NC, son Kevin Griffith of Gray, GA, grandchildren Jessica Kamphuis, Mitch Kamphuis, Kody Kamphuis, Alexis Woods, Autumn Vaughn, Ansley Griffith, great grandchildren Gracie Ennis, Gabi Ennis, Jett Fink, Knox Kamphuis, Kooper Kamphuis, Grayson Woods, Jackson Woods, brother Robert Griffith of Clarkesville, AR, sister Windy Griffith Harrell of Athens, GA.
The family has requested instead of flowers donations can be made to Union Chapel Methodist Church in her memory.
