William Marion Rogers Jr.

William Marion Rogers Jr. , known to many as “Worm,” was born on Sept. 4, 1952, in Eatonton, Ga.

He passed away at his home on July 19, 2024. Mr. Rogers was a lifelong resident of Putnam County and son of the late William and Lucy Rogers. He served his country in the Army during Vietnam. He loved to sit by the river or in a boat with his buddies and fish. He was a jack of all trades and a hard worker. In his earlier years, he worked as a dairyman and even in the logging business. He was the owner and operator of Rogers Construction.

If he was able, he would help anyone in need and give you the last penny in his pocket or the shirt off his back. He loved his animals and even those that weren’t his. As his loving sister-in-law, Debbie Hill, quoted, “She never seen anyone spend so much money on vet bills.”

Debbie, also wanted to share how much she will miss him and was grateful for the time she had with him and all he did to help them. All of his family and friends will miss William.

He is survived by his wife Linda Sue Kersey Rogers. His son, Jeremy (Tammy) Bell; daughter, April Rogers, stepdaughter Brandy (Brian) Holden; grandchildren, Ashli Anglin, Brittany Ring, Megan Stuart, Aidan Roberts, Kade Roberts; step-grandchildren Dillan Pender, Jamie Pender, Haley Spillers, Heather Pender, six great-grandchildren, sisters, Francie (Calvin) Hunnicutt, Rebecca (Gary) Denham and Dale Shepherd, 16 nieces & nephews, and 27 great nieces and nephews, with two great-grandchildren on the way. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jesse and Jimmy Rogers, sister Lois Hash, and grandson Jonathan Bell.

We will have a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local VFW post or Veterans organization of your choice in William’s memory.
