Dear editor: EPWSA just announced an 8.7% water rate increase with inadequate justification. EPWSA recently held nearly $8,000,000 in cash that was accumulated by charging more than the actual cost for many years. EPWSA is supposed to be a nonprofit!
That’s probably more cash on hand than the Putnam County government or Eatonton City government has!
Something is amiss here! Why don’t you (EPWSA)use some/most of that money, rather than hit your customers with a large increase at such an inopportune time? And I don’t mean use the money on unnecessary projects just to dispose of it!
Come on guys, you can do better!!!
