Dear Editor, Another week has passed, but we still need to remember some very important tests. Remember to continuously keep each other and everyone in prayer.
These are trying times. Storm victims, sick and shut-ins, and bereaved families should not be forgotten. The weather has been strange. One day we need air conditioning, the next day heat. But I won’t complain.
Easter was great. The weather was perfect, and we need to continuously remember the meaning. We should not forget.
Remember, I am nosy. I
was driving through downtown Eatonton last week and what did I see? People everywhere strolling down the beautiful streets. They were stopping to look at the store windows and admire the views. I noticed a large number of shoppers coming out of stores. Everyone knows how much I love these stores, but also remember, you can’t wander down the streets without inhaling the delicious smell of food from various restaurants.
I drove back and forth being nosy and I saw groups of people standing in front of the Uncle Remus statue on the courthouse square. It made me very happy. The next thing is the water tower downtown. I was already absolutely happy, but happier if we could get a mural upon it. Remember, this is the Briar Patch.
Why not the critters? Please, please.
My prayers also go out to the group working on the Jimmy Davis Park project. I definitely believe you will get good results. Jimmy Davis was a good, good person, who worked for everyone regardless of race or color, and he was also my uncle. It will all work out. That is one of my dreams.
Thought for the day: Remember, the real issue in life is not how many blessings we have, but what we do with one blessing.
God bless, Georgia Benjamin-Smith
