Dear Editor, Another wonderful week has passed, and we are here to reminisce. There is some sadness and some joy, but we have learned from our fore-parents to live each day to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised for anyone. The Jimmy Davis Park march and rally was a great success.

Georgia anti-gangs bill, other laws to take effect July 1

Controversial legislation imposing mandatory minimum prison terms for gang recruitment in Georgia will take effect July 1. Senate Bill 44 is one of the dozens of bills the General Assembly passed this year that will become law with the start of a new fiscal year.
