Gatewood’s Garric Embry won the shotput competition at the GISA AA state track meet held at Strong Rock Christian School in Locust Grove April 21-23. Embry’s throw of 45’ 11.5” was nearly a more than a foot further than Thomas Denton’s of Brentwood who finished second with a throw of 44” 9.75”. Embry also finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 134’ 7”.
