The Lake Oconee Shotgun Team, under head coach John Bush, returned this past weekend from the National Scholastic Clay Target Program’s competition July 5-12 at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio.
Intermediate Advanced Ladies division shooter Lilly Kent Rainey turned in a first-place effort in Super Sporting and placed fifth in Sporting Clays, while Ford Rocker also finished first in the Junior Varsity Men’s Super Sporting class.
The LOST Five Stand Team, comprised of Parker Holle, Jonathan Lackey, Jake Pope, Will Rainey, and Wyatt Wojtas, placed second in overall team competition.
Additionally, LOST members enjoyed participating in the Make-A-Break shooting competition, placing third with a team of five shooters, including Quinton Anthony, Parker Holle, Jonathan Lackey, Austin Marshall, and Will Rainey. Lilly Kent Rainey placed third in the ladies' individual competition.
Finally, the team recognized three graduating senior athletes while in Ohio, including Blake Daniel, who will attend Emmanuel University and has signed with the school’s Clay Target team. LOST team members Austin Marshall and Jake Pope will each attend Georgia Southern University and also plan to pursue their shooting careers in college.
The LOST team is based at Old Hudson Plantation in Sparta, and all interested Lake Country student-athletes are welcome and encouraged to participate.
