The Rock Lobsters, Athens’s new Federal Professional Hockey League (FPHL) team, has released its schedule of special promotional nights for the team’s inaugural 2024-25 season.
Included are:
Opening Night, Dec. 6: The first 1,000 Rock Lobsters fans to arrive will receive a commemorative inaugural season puck, and all fans will be greeted with a special opening ceremony, giveaways, and an electrifying game.
B52’s Night, Dec. 13: Celebrate Athens’ rock legends and the team’s namesake inspiration, the B52’s. Enjoy music from the band, themed activities, and special appearances. Dress in your best retro attire for a chance to win prizes.
Teddy Bear Toss, Dec. 21: Bring a teddy bear to the game and participate in the heartwarming hockey tradition of tossing them onto the ice after the first goal. All teddy bears will then be donated to local children’s charities.
Hockey & Hops, Dec. 28: Beer enthusiasts will enjoy samples of several craft beers from local breweries.
Special beer-related activities and promotions will be conducted throughout the game.
New Year’s Eve Glow Night, Dec. 31: Ring in the New Year with a glow-in-the-dark party at the brand-new Classic Center Arena. The arena will be illuminated with neon lights, and fans will receive free glow sticks and other glowing accessories. Stay for the New Year’s countdown and celebrate with a post-game fireworks display.
Wizards Night, Jan 11, 2025: Rock Lobsters fans attending the game are encouraged to dress up as their favorite wizards and witches. Themed activities and magical performances will take place throughout the game.
Greek Night, Jan. 31: In a nod to the local fraternity/ sorority community, college students are invited to Greek Night. They can enjoy discounted tickets, food, and beverages, along with Greek-themed contests and activities.
Stick It To Cancer Night, Feb. 1: Join the Rock Lobsters in the fight against cancer. The team will wear special jerseys that night, to be auctioned off after the game with proceeds going to cancer research. Fans can also participate in awareness and fundraising activities.
Pucks & Paws, Feb. 2: Fans are invited to bring their well-behaved furry friends to the game for Pucks & Paws Night. Special seating areas and activities will be available for pets and their owners. The first 500 pets will receive a Rock Lobsters bandana.
Teacher Appreciation Night, Feb. 28: Celebrate the educators in our community. Teachers can receive discounted tickets, and special recognitions will be made throughout the game. The first 500 teachers to attend will receive a Rock Lobsters tote bag.
Military Appreciation Night, March 1: Honor U.S. military personnel with a night dedicated to their service. Special tributes will be paid during the game, and military members can receive discounted tickets. The first 500 military attendees will receive a limited-edition Rock Lobsters camo hat.
Faith & Family Night, March 2: A special night for families and faith-based communities featuring family-friendly activities, group discounts, and a post-game concert featuring local bands.
First Responders Night, March 21: Pay tribute to brave first responders in our community. Special recognitions will be made, and first responders can receive discounted tickets. The first 500 first responders will receive a commemorative challenge coin.
Star Wars Night, March 29: May the Force be with you. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite Star Wars characters. Enjoy themed activities, photo opportunities, and special appearances by Star Wars characters.
Golf Night, April 4: Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a night dedicated to their favorite sport. They can participate in putting contests and other golf-related activities for a chance to win prizes.
