Born of the 2023-24 Leadership Putnam class, the 3rd annual Project Putnam Golf Tournament returns this month to the historic, 9-hole Uncle Remus Golf Course (URGC) in Eatonton.
Proceeds raised from the tournament will fund a free community Easter Egg Hunt with additional free activities for kids on April 4, again at URGC.
Registration is $300 per team or $75 for individuals, with a 15-team limit.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, for a 10 a.m. shotgun start, with the tournament to be played in two flights of four-person scrambles. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top-two teams from each flight after 18 holes are completed.
A beverage cart will make rounds once the tournament begins, and registration also includes lunch at the URGC clubhouse after nine holes.
“We’re especially excited about this year’s tournament because we have a lot of new sponsors joining several others who have been with us from the start, and that lets us add even more raffle prizes at the end of the day,” Project Putnam member and URGC assistant manager Diane Carter said.
“This tournament is always one of our best and most fun each year.
I think it being pretty early in the season and knowing it’s all for a good cause, really contributes to its popularity.”
Carter stressed that several tournament sponsorship opportunities remain, from individual holes to beverage carts to silver, gold, and platinum levels, to join title sponsor Javy Roofing. Call Carter at 404-408-2248 or visit URGC in person (120 Hambone Holle Dr., Eatonton) to learn more.
