Gatewood track & field squad off to strong start

Gatewood’s track and field teams are off to an impressive start to the regular season, with both the boys and girls squads showing promise under the guidance of head coach Jeff Ratliff.On the girls’ side, the Gators have already made a statement.

Lady War Eagles heading in the right direction amidst challenging season

Putnam County’s girls soccer team is nearing the end of its 2026 season, with one game remaining in the regular season.The Lady War Eagles recently traveled to Greene County, where they earned a hard-fought overtime victory after a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation.

Putnam County head baseball coach Stephen Phillips reached a major milestone March 31, earning his 300th career win with a 7-4 decision over Jasper County.Phillips called it a “special” moment for him and his family.

Putnam County senior Jmari Greene is taking the next step in his basketball journey, officially signing a letter of intent to play at Andrew College.

War Eagles win pivotal region series over Jasper

Putnam County’s baseball team picked up a key region series win last week, taking two of three games from Jasper County.The War Eagles (11-9, 6-3) handed the Hurricanes their first two region losses of the season and strengthened their position in the standings.

Gatewood perfect so far in region

Since Gatewood’s baseball team (9-4, 5-0) got back on track with a 16-0 win at Central Fellowship Christian Academy (CFCA) on March 20, the Gators have strung together two more wins for a three-game win streak and a 5-0 record in region competition.
