War Eagles defeat Dogs in rivalry tilt

The Putnam County boys’ basketball team topped rival Morgan County 65-45 behind a solid second-half effort.The two teams were tied 25-25 at the half, but the War Eagles outscored the Dogs 40-25 in the final two quarters.

Lady War Eagles beat Morgan in thriller

The Putnam County girls’ basketball team edged out rival Morgan County 47-45 last Thursday night on the road.The Lady Dogs were set to inbound the ball with under five seconds left in the game, and they heaved up a prayer down to the other end of the court.

War Eagles soar to successful start

The Putnam County boys’ basketball team is off to a successful 4-0 start to the 2024-25 season.The War Eagles began the regular season on Nov. 12 at Jones County and won 64-49. They’ve since defeated Groves, Monroe (Albany), and the Utopian Academy of the Arts.
