War Eagles tame Titans on Senior Night

Putnam County tailback Rashod Daniel knew what was on the line against Towers on Senior Night last Friday.Daniel helped the War Eagles win 48-14 over the Titans, keeping his team’s region title hopes alive.“My senior night was amazing, to say the least,” said Daniel.

Gatewood falls 29-6 at Briarwood

With a three-game winning streak in hand, but after three idle weeks due to the effects of Hurricane Helene on its schedule, Gatewood opened region play last Friday against Briarwood in Warrenton, where the hometown Buccaneers handed a 29-6 loss to the visiting Gators.

‘Big game’ coming for Putnam versus Trojans

Putnam County will face its toughest regular-season test this Friday at Lamar County in a big region tilt. The War Eagles (4-4, 2-1 Class A Division I — Region 4) and the Trojans (6-1, 3-0) are battling to win the region championship.

Bulldogs’ secondary needs better result against Texas

Defensively, Georgia endured a second-half meltdown last Saturday at home against Mississippi State and hopes to correct its issues this week in a top-10 showdown in Austin against No. 1 Texas.

Gators well rested after storm break

War Eagles shut out Utopian Academy

Putnam County arguably played its most complete game against the Utopian Academy for the Arts last week in Ellenwood. The War Eagles dominated from start to finish, defeating UAA 69-0 to improve to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in Class A Division I Region 4 competition.

War Eagles to host Towers on Senior Night

Putnam County (3-4, 2-1 Class A Division I - Region 4) will host Towers (2-3, 0-2) for Senior Night.The War Eagles intend to send their class of 2025 off this Friday with a big victory against the Titans.

Georgia ready to ‘cut loose’ against Mississippi State

No. 5 Georgia (4-1, 2-1 SEC) will host Mississippi State (1-4, 0-2) on Saturday for a 4:15 p.m. kickoff.The Bulldogs of Starkville have struggled this season in head coach Jeff Lebby’s first season at the helm. However, they got a bye last Saturday to rest and prepare to face the Bulldogs of Athens.
