University of South Carolina defensive back Jalon Kilgore had a stellar freshman season. He significantly impacted the Gamecocks’ defense, totaling a team’s second-best 76 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and six pass breakups last year.

Georgia’s high school football season officially begins on Aug. 16, but scrimmages start on Aug. 2, which is wild. So, the next couple of weeks will be busy, but I am excited for the ride as I enter year four of covering the sport.
