Competition builds for War Eagles in summer

Putnam County football recently wrapped up the month of June with a camp at rival Morgan County.
The War Eagles are now on a short break due to the GHSA-mandated dead week but will start back up July 13, when they host GMC Prep and Brentwood Academy for a 7-on-7 camp.

Harmon Wages was a football player and a very good one, often underrated, but always with a flair for the dramatic, turning heads and causing headlines to sometimes drip with hyperbole. Even when there was a faux pas, it seemed to make him more popular with the Atlanta Falcons’ fan base.

Gators’ basketball visits Athens, attends UGA camp

Several members of the Gatewood boys’ basketball team recently experienced something special.
Earlier this month, seven Gators’ varsity hoops players and head coach Don Keiser made the hour-long trip north on U.S. 441 to attend a basketball camp at the University of Georgia in Athens.
