Putnam County senior Jermaine Nelson was born and raised in Jamaica but moved to the United States in 2017 and ended up in Eatonton. Now, just a few years later, Nelson is leaving with a high school diploma and a college scholarship to run track at South Georgia’s Thomas University.

The John Milledge Academy Trojans came back from a disappointing 11-1 loss last Friday to the Valwood Valiants by winning games two and three.
The Trojans were scheduled to play a doubleheader last Friday, but due to inclement weather, game two was postponed.

Gators sweep Crusaders, face Patriots next

The Gatewood Gators began their playoff run for a GIAA Class AA state championship by hosting the Trinity Christian Crusaders out of Dublin.
The Gators took the two-out-of-three series with back-to-back wins last Friday.
