PCHS soccer finishes first, heads to playoffs

The last regular-season home game for Putnam County High School’s soccer teams came on March 28, and not only celebrated 2023 seniors but also college signings.
PCHS soccer for both boys and girls has been dominant over the past several weeks and last Tuesday the celebration continued.

PCHS set to host region tennis playoffs

The Putnam County High School girls’ tennis team visited Augusta on March 16, where they defeated Westside 5-0. Each of the Putnam girls ultimately dominated their competition, but Giana Hamlin played a particularly combative match.

Gators win three on the road to extend streak

After a doubleheader sweep on the road last Tuesday against region rivals Westminster Christian in Watkinsville, followed by a non-region, Thursday night win in Macon over First Presbyterian Day, the Gatewood Gators are riding a seven-game winning streak.

War Eagles finding their wings as playoffs approach

After a tough non-region slate, Putnam County baseball has found its feet in Region 4-AA play. The War Eagles began the season 1-7 overall, with some tough losses to non-region opponents. They’re currently 7-10 entering this week and on a three-game winning streak.

PCHS track season gets underway

After canceled meets due to weather, the Putnam County High School War Eagles track and field team was happy to finally get its season underway on March 7, with a meet in Greene County.
The boys’ 4x100 went to Putnam’s Alan Hill, DJ Bland, Sharrod White, and Jermaine Nelson with an unofficial 42.
