Woman jailed for theft from employer

An Eatonton woman was arrested last week for stealing approximately $2,000 worth of electronics while she was working at Walmart.Eatonton Police Chief Howell Cardwell said Lakika Culp had worked at Walmart in Eatonton for almost 20 years.

An Eatonton man stabbed his roommate, punched the glass out of a window, and ran from officers, but he now sits in Putnam County jail, according to authorities.Eatonton Police Officer Chad Burket responded to a 911 call regarding a fight between roommates around 2:30 a.m.

A Henry County man who had been missing for a month is now safe and reunited with his family after being found by an Eatonton Police Officer.Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Eatonton Police Department Officer Chad Burket saw a 2013 Nissan Rogue traveling the wrong way on Marion Street.

Women arrested for public affray

While out on patrol last week, Eatonton Police Department officer Kevin Malloy reportedly saw two women punching out their differences on the sidewalk.Malloy wrote in his incident report that he was driving south on Martin Luther King Jr.

Man lost in brush found safe by firefighter

A lost Eatonton man was found safe a few hours after he was reported missing. The timing of his rescue seemed preordained, as his rescuer had just met him the day before.James Timothy Smith, 48, was last seen when he purchased some groceries from Ingles in Eatonton around 3:30 p.m.

EPD intercepts possible prison contraband

Eatonton Police Department officers intercepted a package of contraband believed to be intended for drop off at a nearby prison before it reached its destination last week.A woman was arrested, and law enforcement officers are still seeking her husband, according to EPD Investigator Hargrove Jones.
