While out on patrol last week, Eatonton Police Department officer Kevin Malloy reportedly saw two women punching out their differences on the sidewalk.
Malloy wrote in his incident report that he was driving south on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and saw a crowd gathered in front of the American Legion Post 583.
“I saw two females actively fighting on the public sidewalk,” he said in his report.
He later identified the women as Kenya Milner and Shardayla Steward.
“Both Kenya and Shardayla were actively punching one another repeatedly,” he said.
The officer jumped out of his patrol vehicle and stopped the fight, and placed both women in handcuffs. While speaking with them, he reportedly could smell “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the breath and person.”
Both women were taken to the police department, where they were booked and fingerprinted without incident.
Kenya Milner, 38, of Earnest Byner Street, Milledgeville, and Shardayla Shaon Stewart, 34, of Daisy Lane, Shady Dale, were each charged with affray and released on $440 property bond.
When asked what the fight was about, Eatonton Police Chief Howell Cardwell said the two women were girlfriends, “so it was probably just a lovers’ spat.”
