District Attorney becomes Putnam’s solicitor

Putnam County is now saving money in its court system, specifically in the state court, according to authorities. Until now, Putnam County State Court cases were prosecuted by an elected solicitor general. But as of January, that duty has been taken by the district attorney’s office.

Part-time Putnam resident killed in crash

A Marietta man was killed Monday morning while traveling to his house on Lake Sinclair, authorities say. Richard Leon Henderson, 70, died when his vehicle left the road and crashed into trees at about 11:30 a.m., according to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.

Handyman accused of stealing laptop from work site

A handyman is in jail after reportedly helping himself to his clients’ belongings, authorities say. The man was working on a house on Angeline Circle installing exterior siding. The residents went out of town for a few days, according to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills.

Single-car crash slows traffic on Pea Ridge

An Eatonton mother was flown by medical helicopter to an area trauma center following a single-car crash on Pea Ridge Road Saturday. According to Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills, a 16-year-old was driving south on Pea Ridge Road shortly after 1:30 p.m.
