Pressley: Sharing the love

This past weekend I was asked through the Outdoor Legacy Foundation (OLF) to take a special-needs young man fishing. His name was Lancelot. Lance is what he told me to call him. Lance is a fine young man who is eaten up with dairy cows, peacocks, and animals in general.

Pressley: Spring fishing is here

With the exception of the insane amount of rain we’ve had this year, we are hopefully now entering full-fledged spring! Pollen clouds, azaleas, spawning fish, gobbling turkeys, and soon-to-be 90-degree days.

Pressley: Easter, Seersucker and the Masters

As many of you know, I personally believe the Masters should be treated like a religious holiday. We should all stop what we are doing, turn toward Augusta and not move for four days. Well, really five, because to me it all starts with the Par 3 tournament on Wednesday. The grandfather of golf, Mr.

Pressley: Of knives and men

I’m one of those guys who always has a knife on them. I mean if I am up, moving, and got clothes on, there is a knife on me. Either on my belt or in my pocket. Sometimes both. A knife is something that is totally personal.

Pressley: Taking another road!

Well, we are now into the second month of 2023. So, are there any New Year’s resolutions still going? I wish you good luck with them! Don’t follow me around for advice on those, folks.

OUTDOORS: Spotted bass fishing

One of the things I truly enjoy is fishing for spotted bass. I love the fish! They are tough fighters and aggressive eaters, and they love to hit top water! With that combination, they make themselves far more appealing to me, and many like me, than any other freshwater fish.

OUTDOORS: A fluke

A few weeks ago, my buddy, Kevin Underwood, told me to come on up to Lanier and let’s go fishing. That’s a suggestion that never falls on deaf ears with me. So, the day after the hurricane cleared the Carolinas I was there. We left out mid-morning and fished through ‘til late afternoon.

OUTDOORS: Another year, another spoon article!

It’s almost that time folks. It’s almost here. Spoon time! If by now you don’t know that fishing a spoon is a favorite tactic of mine, you might live under a rock. I don’t think I’ve written more about any other tactic or technique.
