The Putnam County boys basketball team started the regular season with a 2-0 record.However, sixth-year head coach Patrick Marshall believes his team is still working on areas it aimed to improve during the offseason.

Putnam County’s Jaylin Harper recently signed to play basketball at the next level. Harper, who recently graduated, signed with Brewton-Parker College, an NAIA program located in Mt. Vernon.Harper said he’s excited to be a Baron and continue his career on the hardwood in college.

Following a successful 2024-25 season, several Putnam County boys basketball players earned All-Region honors. Four War Eagles players were selected for the All-Region team, with five others recognized on the honorable mention list.

The Putnam County boys basketball team completed the sweep of Jones County on Jan. 4 with a 71-60 win.In mid-November, the War Eagles opened the 2024-25 regular season with a 67-49 win over the Greyhounds. They’ve since won 14 straight contests to reach a 15-0 record.
