‘Family Tree’ film focuses on Black foresters

The Plaza Arts Center reached the halfway point of its inaugural six-event Southern Circuit Film Tour on Nov. 20 with the showing of “Family Tree,” an exploration of two distinctly different Black families managing timber growth and sales on their North Carolina land.

Movie series debuts with ‘Bulls and Saints’ at The Plaza

A sparse crowd braved the impending arrival of Hurricane Helene last Thursday night to take in “Bulls and Saints,” the first of six scheduled Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers screenings scheduled at The Plaza Arts Center over the next few months.

OSHM August Adventure offers ice cream and family fun

Eatonton’s Old School History Museum at The Plaza Arts Center hosted its 4th annual August Adventure on Saturday, welcoming crowds ready to enjoy some old-fashioned fun.“Our August Adventure has evolved over the years,” OSHM Director Sandra Rosseter explained.

‘Working’ gets the job done at The Plaza

This year’s Broadway Intensive program at The Plaza Arts Center closed Sunday afternoon with the final presentation of “Working: A Musical.” The final performance drew the largest crowd in an eight-show run over the past two weekends.
The Broadway Intensive Program is preparing to perform “Working,” a musical that portrays American workers that “the world so often takes for granted.” For this program, participants have only two weeks to learn their lines, practice on stage, prepare their set, and learn all of the technology to put on a full Broadway production. CCR tribute coming to The Plaza

The Plaza Arts Center is bringing the bayou to Eatonton next month, with the Georgia Players Guild doing an outdoor tribute show to crowd favorite Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR).The CCR catalog of music has stood the test of time through multiple generations.
Steel Magnolias will open this Friday, April 19, with additional performances on April 20, 26, and 27 at 7 p.m., as well as April 21 at 2:30 p.m.
