OSHM Wall of Fame to highlight Putnam sports greats

Tom Rosseter, the man behind the rise of The Plaza Arts Center from the ruins of an old school building, decided almost two years ago that Eatonton needs a proper way to remember and recognize its hall-of-fame-worthy athletic heroes.

Broadway Intensive Program opens virtual auditions

Back for a fourth year, The Plaza Arts Center in conjunction with The Arts Barn is presenting their Broadway Intensive Summer Program, with Working: A Musical as the chosen production. Working is a musical exploration of people from all walks of life.

The Plaza hosts kids’ Christmas party

Santa was on hand at The Plaza Arts Center on Dec. 2 during its annual Christmas at the Plaza event. Guests were encouraged to visit Saturday morning to join in on several fun, free, family activities.

‘12 Angry Jurors’ takes on difficult deliberations

The Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts (PAPA) completed its six-show run of “Twelve Angry Jurors” Sunday night at The Plaza Arts Center, with each performance bringing its own energy and feedback from the audience to its cast of 15 actors.

The memory of Jimmy Buffett following his Friday, Sept. 1 death from a rare, aggressive form of skin cancer was an overarching and obvious presence Saturday night at The Plaza in Eatonton, where renowned Buffett tribute band A1A was performing just its second show since Buffett’s passing.

Old School History Museum hosts annual August Adventure

The Old School History Museum (OSHM) gathered Eatonton residents of all ages at The Plaza Arts Center Aug. 12 for its annual August Adventure, featuring an Ice Cream Social this year. A record 200-plus visitors came to enjoy cold, sweet ice cream on a hot summer day and play old-timey games.
